It's accomplishing to see how far my business has come since the beginning in 2015. Then, I was filled with fear as I set up a beauty room inside a hairdressing salon in Nelson Bay on a shoe-string budget. I had recently moved here with my 11 month old son to be closer to family.
Despite numerous moments of doubt, I am happy to say that I persevered. In 2016, I relocated my salon to my home and began slowly building my business. This was while working at a local pharmacy to supplement my income as well as dedicate most of my time to my beautiful son. It was a challenging juggle, but I remained determined.
By 2017, I had grown confident enough to move my home salon to a dedicated premises in Nelson Bay. At first, I opened for business three days a week, gradually expanding to four, and eventually reaching a five-day workweek. Each step forward was met with hesitancy.
In 2020, after four years of balancing both roles, I made the difficult decision to let go of my position at the pharmacy. I am forever grateful to my supportive leaders at Terrywhite Chemmart, Nelson Bay, who showed understanding and flexibility throughout my employment there. However, it was time for me to embrace the uncertainty and commit fully to my business, Bay Beauty.
In 2022, I successfully obtained my certification in microblading (brow tattooing) and skin needling, which allowed me to expand the range of treatments offered to my clients. Early in 2023, I invested in the latest needling technology, fulfilling my long-held desire to provide cutting-edge skin treatments. In September 2023 I invested in a Brow Feathering (Brow tattoo technique) course with the absolute master of brow tattooing. What an experience!! Thankyou Agneshka at Designing Faces for the knowledge and confidence you gave me in the art of perfecting brow tattooing. I will be forever grateful.
As a skin therapist and brow tattooist, my goal is to work closely with my clients, helping them achieve healthy skin and ultimate confidence with eyebrows similar to the ones they had in their late teens! I strive to deliver the best possible experience to each and every client who visits my salon, catering to their specific needs and skin concerns. I also understand the importance of lending an empathetic ear and providing a supportive environment for those who simply need someone to talk to.
In mid 2024 I decided to open a salon at home in my new community, Mallabula. Our new home from June 2023. I love my home and felt the need to be there more. So did my son!
Now servicing two locations, Nelson Bay Boutique Salon and Mallabula Home Studio, Bay Beauty offers a welcoming and comfortable setting in each location. I want you to feel at home, or perhaps even escape from the familiarity of home if that's what you need!
With over 16 years of experience as a therapist, I have consistently pursued further education and training to stay up to date with the latest techniques, products, and industry trends. My continuous learning allows me to enhance my salons and better serve my clients while I pursue my dreams doing what I love.
